Happy Birthday, Big Brother

Today is my brother's birthday, so I thought I would tell him publicly how much I love him and appreciate him.
Not many little sisters can say they have a "tattoo" to remember their brother by. He actually gave me my first tattoo when I was 5. You see I was a pesky little sister. Always into his stuff. One day I took his brand new school pencils and used them. He was mad at me and threw the pencil at me. Somehow it bounced on the table and hit me in the side of my nose about an inch from my eye. Boy was he lucky. I still remember my dad standing at the top of the stairs yelling for him to come up there right now when I went running with the pencil point still stuck in my nose. To this day, I still have a blue mark on the side of my nose where that pencil hit me.
He is nine years older than I am, so by the time I was old enough to appreciate having a big brother, he was away at college. When we became adults was when we really learned to appreciate each other.
Today we are great friends and he is a big help in taking care of my mom. We will be having a family birthday party for him tomorrow evening, but I wanted to tell the world and my big brother, "Happy Birthday, Skip! I love you." Pin It

Big brother's side of the story:
The way I remember it, I didn't throw the pencil at her; I slammed it down onto the table so hard that it bounced up and hit her point-first in the face. I can't say how extremely thankful I was, and still am every time I'm reminded of it, that it missed her eye. I still shudder to think what might have happened if it had landed just an inch the other way.
Yes, she was a pesky child, but aren't all siblings? I'm sure I bothered her too, in ways I can't imagine. I was amazed when she grew up at how mature she'd become, even more adult than her older brother in several ways.
Love ya, Sis. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
