Acrylic Cupcake Album

When Drake had his first birthday I made a Chipboard Cupcake Album for his party pictures. At the time I had no idea how popular Cupcakes would become. I gave my friend Pam the rights to my file so she could cut Cupcake Albums and sell them through her business, Heart of Texas Studio. Since I LOVE making acrylic albums, I asked her to cut me an Acrylic Cupcake Album with her laser. Adler will be turning ONE in January, so I decided to make this Cupcake for him.

Usually when I do an acrylic album, I like to have the pictures, so I can plan placement so that each page is different and builds on the one beneath it. Since it will be several months until I have the pictures for this album, I stayed more uniform in the placement of my mats and embellishments.
HOW I DID IT!!!
1. First I painted all the pages on JUST the edge of the Acrylic with a White Sharpie Poster Paint Pen to highlight and make the edges "stand out a little more" Then using different colored sharpie markers, I doodled around the edges of each page. The mats were cut 3 1/2 by 5 inches from We R Memory Keepers White Out Collection Patterned Paper . I rounded the corners of the mats to mimic the curved edges of the cupcake. Since the patterned paper is double sided, I only used one piece per page and let the back show through to the other side. I used Creative Imaginations Scrappers Spray to adhere the mats. I will mat my pictures and position them accordingly.
2. BACK COVER - Stamped with White Stazon Ink and flourishes for InqueBoutique Nightingale stamp set. The cupcake was stamped from Hero Arts Seize the Cupcake Clear Stamp Set. It was colored with PrismaColor Pencils and blended with odorless Mineral Spirits.
Circle punched and matted on a Scalloped Circle Die cut.
3. FRONT COVER and PAGE 1 - I created "icing, by cutting cardstock layers and running them through my cuttlebug and embossing them. I then covered each layer with a thin coat of Diamond Glaze and sprinkled it with Martha Stewart Clear Fine Glitter so that it looks like it is covered with a fine coat of sugar. I then highlighted the embossing with coordinating colors of Stickles Glitter Glue. The "ribs" of the cupcake paper were created by stamping a dotted border from Fontwerks Patterna Clear Stamps and highlighting it with a yellow sharpie. For the back of this page (page 1) I just created another embossed piece of "icing" to cover the front icing and highlighted the embossing with metallic rubon paste.

4. PAGE 2 - The Patterned Paper mat is lightly sanded on edges to bring out more white distressing and adhered to the front of the page. Swirls are highlighted with Stickles and Present Die cuts are shaded with chalk. the Bows are covered with Stickles. 5. PAGE 3 and 4 - Balloon Die cuts are shaded with chalk and the highlights were created with Frosted Lace Stickles. Each Balloon was tied with a fine gold wire. The wires were tied together with a bow and adhered to the page with Thermoweb Clear Adhesive Zots. Some dots were very small and flat, others were thicker and gave dimension to the balloons they supported. Only the balloons are adhered to this side. Page 4's mat is adhered to this side
6. PAGE 5 and 6 - Right now nothing is done to Page 5 as everything is showing through the acrylic. Once the pictures are ready to place, I will add a journaling block here. Page 6 has the mat adhered to this side. The Party hats are stamped using Inkadinkado Birthday Fun clear stamp using Ranger Distress Inks. Each party hat was outlined using a fine point black marker and the top of the hats were decorated with Stickles.
7. PAGE 7 AND 8 are embellished with Making Memories Scroll Chipboard from the Hot Spot at Achivers. The Chipboard is colored with Ranger Distress Inks and covered with Stickles.
8. PAGE 9 and 10 - Nothing done yet to page 9. Page 10 Candles are Die cuts. The white base of the candles are shaded with chalk, the blue (melted wax) is covered with Diamond Glaze to give it some shine and dimension, and the flame is shades with yellow, orange and red Stickles. The Sticker is from Pebbles Inc Birthday boy. It was a square sticker, but I cut around the letters to give it some character.
9. PAGE 11 and 12 - nothing done to 12 yet. The mat on page 12 is stamped with Happy Birthday Clear Stamp from the same Inkadinkado Stamp set that the Party hats came from and Broken China Distress Ink. I traced over the work Happy with a black marker. I filled in the letters spelling Birthday with Yellow Stickles.
