The process I follow is to look through my yarn and pick a ball/skein that is calling my name. I then see if there is anything that I like to coordinate with it. I start crocheting and as the hat starts taking shape I decided whether it will be an owl, or a sock monkey, or a bear, or just a beanie with flowers, or a stocking cap.....well you get my drift.

Having so much fun
I am having so much fun making crocheted baby hats. Most of them don't know what they are gonna be until they are finished. I don't use a pattern. I do spend time on Pinterest looking at other's creations for inspiration.
