A Challenge Card using Texana Designs and Kraft Cardstock

Today I made a card using some Texana Designs Stamps.

I was inspired by Catered Crop's Krafty Recipe Swap. My friend Linda McClain always has great challenges on her blog and and it is fun to see what others create using her challenges.

This week's challenge was Kraft Paper. So I decided to use as much Kraft Cardstock as I could.

  • I cut a standard card base for a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card from Kraft Cardstock
  • I also cut a mat 3 3/4" x 5" inches from the same Kraft Cardstock
  • I used my Cuttlebug and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder to emboss the mat.
  • I then placed the mat face down on my Martha Stewart Scoring Board and scored a line 1/4" from each edge creating a raised frame around the mat.
  • I stamped the sentiment, using TD055—BlessYour Texas Heart and then cut it out using a Spellbinders Nestibilites Labels 4 die which I then attached to a piece of ribbon from my stash using matching brads from my stash.
  • I wrapped the ribbon around the mat and adhered the mat to the front of my card.
  • I stamped FR007S—Square(small) and centered TX049mHeart and Star mini in the middle of the square. I hand cut the square, trimming very close to the edge.
  • I created a Kraft Cardstock mat using a Studio File I created in my design software to match the square stamp. You can find the Mat for free download HERE
  • I used Yellow Stickles Glitter Glue to color the star on the stamped image and also to edge the Kraft Mat.
  • I adhered the mat to the card front using my HOMEMADE dimensional pop dots. (see instructions below.

Dimensional Adhesive to Pop the Mat

Cut Fun Foam to fit into your Xyron.  You can use any color of your choice

Run the Fun Foam through the Xyron to attach adhesive to one side.

Fun Foam with Xyron Backing.

Trim excess paper from edges of Fun Foam.

Flip and run Fun Foam back through Xyron covering the other side with Adhesive.

You now have a sheet of dimensional adhesive that you can cut to any size or shape to use on your projects.
