There is No Place Like Home

...to quote Dorothy from Wizard of Oz fame. We spent a week hiking and driving all over the island of Kauai to find the waterfalls and the proverbial Rainbow. One always sees Rainbows in Hawaii, right???? Well we didn't see any except for those that were on Hawaii's License Plates.
Yesterday we drove to Colorado Bend State Park, to hike to Gorman Falls. We had been on this hike last summer and decided we wanted to make the trip again while everything was still green and cool this spring. It was a beautiful day. So we walked back the gravel road to the trail that leads down a rocky path to the Falls. It is about 2 miles in to the Falls so that makes it 4 miles round trip. It might seem like a long hike for some, but believe me. It is worth every step. Breathtaking is one of the words I use to describe the view.
But I digress...... We got to the bottom of the trail and what was the first thing we saw? You got it. Rainbows. Not just one, but at least 4. So we traveled 3825 miles to see a rainbow over a waterfall. And found it in our backyard so to speak......northwest of Lampasas, TX.
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

And my dreams come true, right here in the Heart of Texas.......
There is no place like home.

Glad you finally got to see a rainbow! Even if it had to be in your backyard! Great shots!
